Sewing & Product Development
Nagamma is a young widow and single mother of a nine year son. Her husband died from cancer two years ago. Since his death Nagamma has had to rely on the good will of her family members to survive. She came to the re-wrap co-operative in Mysore in a bid to gain financial and emotional independence. Despite no formal training or work experience she was eager to learn and earn to support herself and her young son. Within a few months of training Nagamma displayed excellent sewing skills and soon became a most diligent member of our team. In January she earned a special bonus for her efficiency, dedication and high quality of work. She is now able to pay her own rent and send her son to a good school.
