what is a FPO ?

FPO (Farmer Producer Organisation) is a generic term for farmer collectives. FPOs provide financial support, training resources and access to markets for farmers to enable them to access better inputs and achieve collective bargaining to improve their livelihoods. 

From 2017 to 2020, we supported 4,000 cotton farmers in South India through the FPO model. They successfully transitioned from conventional commercial farming methods to regenerative farming practices and organic certification. Today, they operate independently, practicing regenerative methods and sharing their learnings with other FPOs.
